Great menu, good food.
We arrived late one evening, around 9pm, and the place was nearly empty. We asked about smoking and were ushered to a private room seating 4 people. The menu is extensive and all the food pretty good. The sashimi was very nice except for the squid which I really don’t think should ever be served raw. No Gin do we drank draft Sapporo, very nice! Table comfortable, service very good, food good - what’s not to like? Little bit pricey but that’s the same the world over with Japanese restaurants.
Enjoyable
I was a little apprehensive about going to this restaurant after having read one other review but the Hyatt recommended The Sushi Bar so we decided to try it. Was very good, very good. I would say the prices may be a little higher but the quality of the Sashimi and Sushi were very good. I would certainly go back when I am in the area.
Good Sushi Bar
I have been to the Sushi Bar in Saigon and in Cambodia. I was curious to discover the one in Da Nang. Nice location close to the river. Big parking lot. Classic Sushi bar decor with black walls and the long bar counter. Food is surprisingly good, probably due to the fresh seafood from Da Nang. The manager told me that they go to the fish market every morning. Sashimi Moriawase assortment was amazing. Young waitresses are very attentive and will go out of their way to please the customer. Price was mid range. Exceeded my expectations.
Great atmosphere with fresh sushi to back it up
The choices are plenty, staff prompt, private rooms with buzzers to call staff, many choices of Saki, clean traditional Japanese seating............... pick 6 or 8 items and share.
Nothing like the Sushi Bar in HCMC - bad experience(s) in Da Nang
The Sushi Bar in HCMC has good sushi, professional service, interesting and tasty appetizers. Foolishly, I expected the same in Da Nang. We went twice. The first outing was average at best - good tuna roll, decent other sushi options, somewhat strange tasting appetizers and "specials. The 2nd outing was less successful. Poor to non-existent service (English does not appear to be spoken by anyone, very loud children using the restaurant as a playground (no supervision by parents or staff). The food itself (absent the tuna roll) was abysmal; strange tasting radishes shredded and doused with mayonnaise, inedible pork cooked up with bitter melon (advertised as fresh green vegetables), and, after the meal was over and tea served, tepid grilled asparagus (I think) Really a bad experience.
