The best banh mi, personally I prefer a lighter version unlike banh mi queen where there was too much topping. The sauce was so balanced and simple as well (I had some places where they loaded on the sauce). Also if you can take spice add the hot paste it added so much more depth in flavors! The grandma even had an oven in her push cart so the bun was toasted till crispy and crunchy. There’s no menu but I had a lovely local help me order the pork sausage (20k). I came at around 9:30am, not sure but I saw some trays already empty so I think some ingredients have already ran out.

Went out looking for banh mi at 7am in the morning. I knew of Mrs Thu’s from Google map and was happy to see them open so early in the morning. The banh mi was packed and super delicious. It is still 20k for one. The lady spoked wonderful english and we had a short chat before I left. It was a wonderful send off before we left for the airport.

Mrs Thu is a lovely old lady serving banh my and home made rice milk from her cart. Order both.

By a good margin the best banh mi I’ve had in all of Vietnam. The sauces the lady uses are on another level.

Very tasty banh my made by a sweet elderly woman. We passed by this stand many times since it was near our hotel and decided to try it, and we're so glad we did. The ingredients are simple but everything is made with love. The shallot oil to fry the eggs is a nice touch, and the chili sauce is not too spicy (we wish we had asked for more). Only 20k for a mixed banh my and an authentic Hoi An experience.

Non ti fermeresti mai perché è praticamente una bancarella in mezzo alla strada con una vecchietta e non c’è nessuno, però ti fidi e resti stupito della bontà che ci mette per preparare il panino, prezzo bassissimo solo 20k tutto fatto sul momento, lei gentilissima e alla fine tutto buono

The old lady makes her bahn mi with pride. There is so much love she put into the bahn mi when I ate them. I came last night and order vegetarian bahn mi. Tonight I came back and she remembered me, asking me if o want the same vegetarian bahn mi. Oh my sweet old lady, I will come back to you and eat your bread everyday 🥰

You know Ms. Thu’s bread is the real deal when lots of locals come by just to pick up rolls as you inhale your banh mi in the course of two minutes

Tủ bánh này khá lâu đời ở khu vực xóm Trại Nông xưa. Tủ bán bình dân, khẩu vị bình dân, đến mức bình thường. Nhất là giữa làn sóng văn hoá ẩm thực được đề cao và sự quan tâm từ nhiều bạn trẻ, thì chất lượng tủ bánh này vẫn dậm chân tại chỗ. Các loại nước chan, pate hay thịt chả không mới mẻ hơn. Chính xác là những ngừoi bán ở khu vực này ngày xưa chủ yếu bán cho cánh xe thồ, xe chở hàng, các ngừoi thương lái, hơn là bán cho ngừoi du lịch như bây giờ. Nên ngừoi chủ vẫn giữ cung cách và cách thức như ngày xưa. Đề xuất mọi ngừoi ăn thử Bánh mì kẹp Bánh chưng. Là kiểu bán mì kẹp ngày xưa ngừoi lao động hay gọi, ăn để cho no bụng, chắc bụng. Ngoài ra, còn có bánh mì kẹp thịt xíu, chả, trứng ốp la, xúc xích, hoặc ăn chay thì cho bánh mì bơ đậu phụng với đường. Giá thành từ 10k. Giá bình dân, ai mua thì thêm topping để cô tính thêm tiền chút, coi như gởi thêm cho cô duy trì cái quán. :D cô lớn tuổi còng lưng luôn rồi.
