Da Nang flies flags at half-staff, suspends entertainment activities during 2 days of national mourning
The Da Nang City People's Committee has issued directives on observing the national mourning ceremony for Xaysomphone Phomvihane, member of the Politburo of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of the Lao National Assembly. Accordingly, on August 10 and 11, agencies, units, and localities across the city will fly flags at half-staff and suspend entertainment and recreational activities to express deep sorrow and condolences.
This solemn ceremony aims to demonstrate the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. Residents and tourists currently in Da Nang during this period should adjust their sightseeing and leisure plans accordingly, while respecting the solemn atmosphere of the event.
Cultural, entertainment, and festival activities scheduled during these two days may be postponed or rescheduled. Visitors are advised to proactively check updates from organizing units to ensure the smoothest experience in the coastal city.
