For our last dinner in Danang, we decided to try a highly rated Greek restaurant, Irini. We started off with a round of Negronis. We shared an arugula, mango, avocado and feta salad with olives and mint. For main courses, we had the vegetarian moussaka and the lamb kebab. The service was good, but the kitchen’s timing was off; our main courses came out at least 10 to 15 minutes apart (that’s happened in several restaurants on this trip).
We shared a watermelon and feta salad to start and each had a souvlaki. The food was delicious, generous portioned and reasonable.
*** Feels like a Greek-American spot. *** Classic R&B music playing in background, yet menu of clearly Greek entrees and such. I had the beet salad and chicken skewer w/ a dirty martini. Food is delicious. Drink so-so. *** it’s cozy so I’ll def return to try again. ***
The meat skewers have nothing to do with Greek Souvlaki. They taste like Vietnamese skewers, full of garlic and local spices and very heavy. I understand the owners and customers leaving positive reviews have never been to Greece. However, nowadays it should be easy to check online the proper recipe and presentation of a dish.
