I'll say right away that we are tourists, so our tastes apparently don't match the locals', the prices are high for this level of food. The only thing is the view of the fields is beautiful, but besides beer and cola, I would hardly order anything else.

I recently had the chance to visit The Cánh Đồng Eatery in Hội An and was truly impressed. The restaurant is located amidst lush green rice fields, with an incredibly airy and peaceful space, offering a sense of absolute relaxation. Dining in nature, enjoying the cool breeze and the poetic countryside scenery is truly a memorable experience. As for the food, the restaurant serves many local specialties with rich flavors and refined preparation. I especially liked the combo platter dishes and the countryside dishes; all were very delicious and suited my taste. The fresh field fish was well-seasoned. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a cozy feeling like eating at home. The prices here are relatively reasonable compared to the general level in Hội An, matching the quality of the dishes and the wonderful space. If you want to find a delicious eatery with a beautiful setting to enjoy nature and Hội An cuisine, this is a place well worth visiting! Two people eat for about 400k as shown in the picture.

I went because I really wanted to eat Vietnamese snail dishes (Ốc), and it was so nice to see the fields at a glance. There were cows in the fields and locals farming. The menu was all in Vietnamese, so I picked two of the representative dishes that had pictures and ordered them, and both were delicious. It was translated as egg & chicken stir-fry, but when I ate it, it seemed like a spicy stir-fry of eggs and chicken gizzards. It was perfect to eat with beer. However, the service from the staff was disappointing.

I came with local friends and had a pleasant drink. The atmosphere is decent, cool, and the food is also edible for Koreans.

Local high-end restaurant. It's delicious. I recommend it for a local experience at least once. 8 of us came and ate to our fill for about 100,000 won.

A great place, open continuously, and decent food without being exceptional. Good if you are a tourist!! The strong point of this restaurant is clearly the location, which is superb. The dining room directly overlooks the rice paddies, and a small bamboo pier is clearly there for you to take your 'Instagram photo'. As a tourist, it's important to note that 🙂 I saw several comments about slow service, but that was absolutely not our case; however, I want to say fortunately since we came in the middle of the afternoon! Regarding the food, the menu is very extensive. The dishes seem to be of uneven quality; for example, the Mam Tôm is decent but not up to the best I've had in Hanoi, the fried fish is very average, while the small mussel salad is very tasty. Price-wise, for 4 of us we paid 780,000 dong for 9 dishes and drinks. That's pretty okay!! So in short, as a tourist it's a good place, but it's not necessarily where I would go first in Hoi An if I'm looking for authenticity.

The place borders the rice fields and seems promising but alas the dishes are not up to the view: the rice was not well cooked, the fish and caramel pork dishes seemed to be deprived of nuoc mam in the preparation, the vegetables...

Beautiful scenery suitable for dining at night. The eatery is crowded, with many staff but they are careless and often forget orders, requiring reminders about 3 to 4 times; some guests even got annoyed and left early. The food is average, scoring 5 points; the best dish is the stuffed snails which are decent, the crab hot pot is very delicious, the rest are average.

The restaurant is simple but the scenery is interesting, the countryside-style food is diverse, and the staff are polite. However, the drink menu only has bottled water, not even coconut water, and the food has a bit too little vegetables and too much oil and fat!

The portion of one dish is a bit small. To get full, you have to order a lot. Although the restaurant sets up a fan for each table, it's still super hot. Should experience it, but not at noon hehe

The eatery is quite crowded on weekends, so service is slow, and the atmosphere is hot during this time. The food is not good, and someone at the table had an allergic reaction that very night. The space is spacious and chill.

This is the 4th time I've returned to Hoi An this year, and my husband took me to eat at this restaurant. Yesterday, June 11th, because of heavy rain, we arrived at the restaurant close to 8 PM. The food came quite slowly, and we only got one dish after a long time, even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded at that time. The crab hot pot was very salty. My family asked for more broth, and they added water, but it was still too salty, so we had to ask for more boiled water to dilute it. Today, June 12th, it was still raining heavily due to Typhoon No. 1, so we arrived at the restaurant after 8 PM. Today, the restaurant was very crowded, but the food came very quickly. Today, my family ordered the snail hot pot. Since there were many children in my family, I blanched the hot pot and noodles for the children to eat first, so I asked for more broth. The staff came out and said that ordering more broth would cost extra. I was surprised and asked, 'But the other table also asked for more broth and didn't have to pay.' The staff replied, 'Because that table's broth was too salty, so I gave them extra.' This part is strange. My family never said the broth was salty until near the end of the meal, when we asked for more boiled water (at that point, the staff even said, 'Should I go in and cook a new pot of hot pot?' but since my family was almost done eating, we said no). So this means the staff knew the broth was salty but still deliberately served it to customers. My family simply thought that maybe the crab hot pot in Central Vietnam is just salty, so we didn't ask for a new pot. Then my family ordered more blanched noodles for the hot pot, but they said the noodles were out of stock. My sibling said, 'This means they don't want to sell anymore.' When we asked for more broth, they said we had to pay; when we ordered noodles, they said they were out, but later they brought out noodles and said they just got them 😂. I think that for such a large restaurant, charging extra for more broth when customers ask for it is something they should reconsider. My family planned to blanch food for the children first, then order more broth and more ingredients to blanch for the adults to eat later, but since there was no broth, we just finished the food we had ordered and paid.

Very bad experience at a famous recommended eatery in Hoi An. Last Sunday, I had the chance to visit the place with my friends. I knew the place was quite popular, so I had booked a table in advance from Wednesday. But when we arrived, it took a while for a staff member to come out and say there were no tables left, even though I had already booked. I had to explain clearly that I had booked very early, then she looked at me with an apologetic look and told us to go upstairs. Upstairs, it took a while for a staff member to lead us to a table in the corner that had a reserved sign. The food took a long time to come. We arrived at 7:30 PM but by 8:30 PM we still didn't have enough food to eat. After asking dozens of times from one staff member to another, the manager came up and said they were out of the dish and switched to Cambodian grilled chicken. But it was even more disappointing when the chicken was still raw and not marinated with flavor. At the end of the meal, the manager gave us a plate of pineapple as an apology. Additionally, when it came time to pay, our bill had an extra 5,000 VND for rice paper. Although the amount was small, we felt deceived. Because earlier, I had asked the manager whether the stir-fried clams came with rice paper, since the staff only brought the plate of stir-fried clams. She confirmed that it came with it, and it took a very long time before they brought the rice paper. When I told the staff member that the manager had said so, she seemed quite skeptical, muttering that this item is charged, while crossing out the 5,000 VND for us. Overall, the food quality was okay, maybe due to the crowd there were mistakes, but the service attitude and experience were very bad. These are my contributions. I hope next time the experience at the place will not be like this.

Hoi An specialty cuisine worth trying, suitable for large groups/families. According to personal taste, it's a bit bland and the summer weather here is quite dry.

Quán The Cánh Đồng is a unique "chill" destination in Hoi An, located right next to a rice field. The space is airy and cool, with beautiful views, making it ideal for enjoying a peaceful dinner. The restaurant gets extremely crowded with both locals and tourists, particularly packed during peak late afternoon/evening hours. You can contact them to book a table in advance to secure a spot with a field view. The food is a major plus, featuring local specialties like young beef (bò tơ), stuffed snails (ốc nhồi), the 5-dish chicken plate, cobia fish soup, etc. The dishes are all very tasty, richly prepared, and full of regional flavors. Prices are super affordable. For a large group, around 200,000 - 250,000 VND per person is enough for plenty of delicious dishes, leaving you completely full. Compared to Com Hoa Hien, Quán The Cánh Đồng is a place with slightly cheaper prices and is similarly delicious.

Second time coming to the eatery, the peaceful and comfortable countryside scenery!

Delicious food at reasonable prices, beautiful view, but the kitchen takes extremely long to prepare even though the restaurant is very empty and there are many staff sitting around.

The view is very soothing. We really enjoyed watching a cow and its calf frolicking in the distance. The portions were generous and tasty, even though the fried chicken was too dry. The bathroom is clean.

I arrived at the restaurant at 12:15, sat until 1:30 and still didn't have my dish. When they brought the food out, they brought the dishes but not the rice. My family had to get the rice ourselves. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, but after asking for spoons for 10 minutes, we still didn't get them. My family sat waiting, drinking water until we were full, so we left.

My family and I came to the restaurant on the weekend but had an unpleasant experience. Although we understand that the restaurant is busy on weekends and somewhat sympathize with the slow service (even though it wasn't fully booked), the service was not stable at all. The dishes came out slowly, the food was cold, and the staff did not inform us when items were sold out. When we were about to receive the dishes and ordered more, they brought the wrong items. The staff are very young and tried to meet our requests, but they seemed untrained, hesitant, and clumsy. As for the food, I'd say it's okay with reasonable prices, but the portions are small and many dishes were cold, so the overall dining experience I'd rate 5.5/10. I hope the restaurant can improve and have a clear management system from the kitchen to table service.

The food is relatively delicious. I recommend the combo platter of grilled chicken + snakehead fish + shrimp + pork. The herring salad (raw fish lightly seared) - wet salad. The kho quet (caramelized fish sauce dip) is quite sweet and overcooked. The space overlooks vast rice fields, so it's cool, airy, and fresh. The wind is strong, so sitting for a long time can make you cold; you should bring a jacket to wear.

Especially the garlic butter soft roe, the sauce goes great with rice. Today, my group ate + drinks cost 982k. Divided among 6 people, it's about 165k per person. Not too expensive. Only the portion size I find a bit small. What I need to suggest is that if someone books a table, the restaurant should call to confirm the information to be sure. Because I booked a table a week in advance, messaged my full name, but when I arrived, my name wasn't there. I messaged the restaurant and they said the staff saved the wrong name. I know the restaurant is very busy, so I booked in advance. If we arrived and there was no table, how would the restaurant arrange it? 8 adults and 2 children, not a small group.
