The Hoianian - wine bar & restaurant

It started out as just a glass of wine at happy hour. Which lead to another round and another, until we were hungry and the rain forced us inside. We ate on the 2nd level which was very sophisticated and upscale compared to the pedestrian bistro tables. We were blow away by the quality of the food. Started with Rose-bud Dumplings which was excellent. We ordered the Cau Lau signature seafood & the Cha Ca Ha Nqi (Hanoi's famous fish dish)! Incredible meal...the restaurant's ranking needs to be much higher...Congrats Chef! We will be back...could be our best meal in Vietnam to date...I also must mention the snack on the bistro tables...popcorn with fish sauce...what a great local snack.

I loved this place - finally somewhere I can get a glass of fizz!!! Great service - I didn’t have any food, but seemed popular.. there is an upstairs and the balcony gets a nice breeze in the afternoon!

Sat here for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, just having a couple glasses of wine and enjoying the scenery! We ordered the Hoi An Sample Plate and it was delicious (fried wontons, dumplings and spring rolls). Forgot to take a pic of it, tho, as we wolfed it down...well, it DID go well with the wine...lol. Highly recommend this place at the water's edge! Service is excellent too!

Situated right on the river. Managed to get a balcony table after a short wait. Fabulous food. Impeccable wine list. No smoking on balcony either which has to be a + Thoroughly recommend. Can't wait to return.

A nice spot on the river , very much for tourists , that said the building is beautiful and the atmosphere is lovely. Happy hours are great , especially as a wine drinker.

This restaurant is located on the edge of Thu Bon River. It offers a great view of the river scene and street vending. But what we enjoyed the most is their menu offering. They have a selection of classic vietnamese cuisine, as well as some creative French fusion dishes. The staff was great, being helpful and attentive. There are two floors that you can chose to dine in. Be aware that during high tide, the river may rise to the steps to the entrance. Which makes it a bit challenging to keep your feet dry.

What a lovely place omg!!! Always busy … so it tells you something. Drinks were amazing and then we have decided to have some food and it was delicious!!! I would def come back already missing the taste of the duck! You need to try. There were 5 of us and we all have enjoyed each dish and cocktail! 😍

Lots of servers take care of you very well. They give you unlimited fresh water and popcorn. There is a selection of wine and piles of specialty drinks and cocktails. Inside and outside seating. Good spot. We didn't eat here - just stopped in for a nightcap wine on several occasions.

Een gezellig en sfeervol restaurant direct aan de kade. Het restaurant heeft een terrasje aan de straat en ook een balkon waar ca 10 mensen kunnen zitten. Beneden en boven is er veel zitgelegenheid. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk. Wij hadden een plek op het balkon waar we konden genoeten van de levendigheid van de straat en de gekleurde bootjes. Om te eten gingen we voor vis en hebben gekozen voor de Seabass in bananaleave, een klassieker in Hoi An. En met de rijst erbij erg lekker!!

Vu are server was great. We sat upstairs and the view of the river was great.

Delicious food served by friendly staff who are knowledgeable about food allergies and so they're able to confidently recommend gluten free options on the menu. Enjoyed lunch in the relaxed atmosphere while watching the busy street life and boats passing by on the canal.

We just had a drink here (a glass of local Dalat wine & a cocktail), but the selection is pretty good and both were tasty. Location on the riverbank is lovely

Possibly the best food since being in Vietnam. Obviously freshly cooked, the dressings and sauces enhanced every mouthful. Highly recommend Thuy was so attentive

It was OK, we stop for a glass of wine for happy hour, but it was more like by the first one at double price and get the second one for free than by one get one free. Not really the vibe , we are looking for wouldn't stop buy again

We tried every cocktail on the menu and each one were delicious and served perfectly. The food was spectacular we both had a fillet steak and both were cooked perfectly. Staff very friendly, only thing is if you have outdoor seats grabbing the attention of the staff may take a moment longer but would still highly recommend.

Cibo ottimo. Location molto bella con vista sul fiume.
